Jun. 4th, 2005 09:45 pmAfter spending a week trying to make applications from 1995 work on my computer, I'm finally able to take my correspondence course -- Spanish I. And, upon starting up the program... I am incredibly confused. The program lists off a bunch of Spanish phrases... and expects me to magically know what they mean in English, I suppose. I was given a Spanish-English dictionary for the course; maybe I'm expected to look up every single word?
And, it's my birthday! Well, tomorrow is, but June birthdays were celebrated at my grandma's house today. Because Mom has such a huge family, birthday presents generally consist of random dollar bills thrown in a card -- thus, I ended up with $42 today. (A new candidate for the ultimate question: "How many dollars did
_cadenza receive for her 16th birthday? 42.") Also received the DVD of the Hitchhiker's Guide TV show, and the Phantom of the Opera book!
